Food Stall: Burrito Bar

For the past 2 years and a half, we've been going to Banilad Town Center at least 3 times a week. That is because our daughter has been going to Gymboree for toddler classes and we buy our weekly bread at the Sunday market. Ultimately, by now we've been able to try the various food sold at BTC. My personal favorite are the Xiao Long Bao at Choi City and the Egg Tarts at Pan De Manila.

There have also been establishments that we've had to sadly say goodbye to (Brothers Burger, Gonuts Donuts). But it's always exciting to meet the newcomers! Just as the case of Burrito Bar. This isn't exactly a restaurant, it's more like an extension of Postrio so I categorized it as a food stall. Anyways, correct me if I'm wrong. But it is an extension of Postrio and it is located in front of it. You get your menu there and pay there as well.

SM's classes are in the early afternoon so we usually have our afternoon snacks at BTC. I've been wanting to try the Burrito Bar for a couple of days now, but never got to. And although today I was little tight on money, we went for it. So with P200 in my wallet, I prayed that that would be enough (even for just 1 burrito).

There are 4 stools at the counter. If you don't want to stay there, you may choose to stay inside Postrio or at the tables outside.
Turns out, I had just enough for one burrito! Yey! A classic burrito costs P150.00 and if you want to upgrade to a special meat you just add P30.00. That's what we did and it was just enough! But what surprised me more was the size of the portions; the burrito was huge. It was cut in half and my husband and I each had a half.

As written in the menu, the Burrito is the original mission-style burrito made with the freshest ingredient. The burritos come with your choice of meat, spanish rice, refried beans, and fresh salsa. We added P30.00 and got the Carne Asada even though the woman at the counter recommended the Barbacoa. The Carne Asada is marinated grilled beef sirloin steak. I did not regret my choice!

The intense flavors were definitely there. The tortilla was cooked through. And they definitely did not scrimp on the ingredients. In every bite I took, I got a little bit of each the ingredients and flavor. If you can stand heat, add their authentic mexican hot sauce, which they bottled in a Corona beer bottle.

It's gonna take a lot for me to stick to my diet and stay far away from Burrito Bar. In fact, just writing about it now makes me want to go and oh no, SM has class tomorrow. Uh-oh!
