Pick-Up: Casa Verde, The Walk @ IT Park

I have the sweetest boyfriend husband! I've been with him for 10 years now and he never fails me to put a smile on my face. By now, you'd think that things would have changed, but the "magic" is certainly still there. He's a quiet and calm guy and people don't often see his romantic and sensitive side, but I think it's special only I get to see him that way.

While some call home or send text messages, he says he misses me with a surprise pick-up lunch! He's been working really hard for the past days; leaving home before SM and I start our morning and coming home just in time for dinner. Then his time is usually spent with our daughter as he puts her to sleep. But I shouldn't complain because this is only on busy busy days. Pretty soon, we'll be back to our normal routine.

I have to admit that MR and I have had really good memories with food. Food trips, midnight cravings, exploring new places, partner-cooking. I'm head chef and he's the sous-chef in our kitchen. He likes to explore exotic and new dishes, while I'm more inclined to traditional comfort. In many ways, we are as different as we are the same.

Baby Back Ribs

So he brought home food for us to share before he headed back to the office. SM was already having her afternoon nap, so this was just him and me. I had already cooked lunch for myself, but obviously had to put it aside. Who can resist a surprise lunch especially when it's Casa Verde's Baby Back Ribs??? Casa Verde's ribs are great at the restaurant, but even better at home where you can eat with your fingers, bite into the ribs like there's no tomorrow, and lick the sauce off your fingers! I only have it this way (unless invited).

For around P500, he bought 2 orders of Back Baby Ribs and 1 order of Seafood Carbonara for SM (this is her absolute favorite. When she woke and saw what her papa brought her, her first reaction was "delicious!"). There's only one thing to say: more, more, more!! And I mean, the baby back ribs and the sweet surprise!
