Leylam Shawarma, Ayala Center Cebu

I gotta be honest but I never really noticed Leylam Shawarma until they came up with their Shawarma Rice. The first time we had Shawarma Rice was at the Christmas Bazaar in IT Park. I remembered thinking how inventive this was and how much we loved the garlic sauce. We are very big on garlic in our family.

The day I first saw their new branch at Ayala Center (the night we saw Harry Potter) turned out to be their opening day. July 14, 2011. I found that out through their colorful balloons.

Leylam Shawarma is located at Food Choices on the top level of Ayala Center. The one beside the cinema. There are no problems finding seats as there are many tables all over the area. I waited at one of the tables while MR got our orders.

Spicy Shawarma Rice - P55.00

He got me the Shawarma Rice with Spicy Sauce. Shawarma Rice is a mixture of rice, vegetables, beef, topped with garlic sauce and in this case, spicy sauce. There was a lot of sauce because of the addition of the spicy sauce so the rice mixture was quite moist.

Shawarma Rice - P55.00

MR got the non-spicy Shawarma Rice. This had little sauce and was too dry for our liking. Next time, we're going spicy all the way or asking for extra sauce!

Shawarma Noodles - P55.00

MR was intrigued about the Shawarma Noodles. But we weren't impressed by this. It was very similar to the regular Chinese-inspired noodles. I guess we were expecting it to have garlic sauce (it didn't) and a cetain je-ne-sais-quois that the Shawarma Rice has.

Hummus - P55.00 and Flat Bread - P15.00

We also decided to bring home Hummus for Dad with a Flat Bread. I took a glance at it and it didn't look appetizing and looked very thick! I was right as Dad didn't even finish this; both Hummus and Flat Bread he set aside. I guess I know what I'm not gonna be ordering again at Leylam Shawarma.
