After a day of shopping and strolling at the mall, we decided to grab something to eat. It's another family day for us! ☺
If you read a couple of posts ago, you would know I've been meaning to try the chicken-all-you-can at Max's Restaurant. Here was my chance, finally!
When we got to Max's Restaurant, the place was deserted. It was 5:45PM. At 6:30PM, the place was packed and people had to be wait-listed. The promo starts from 6PM to 10PM so I guess we got there at the right time.
We sat at one of the couch tables on the side of the restaurant. I had the escalator going down to the parking lot as my view. It wasn't so bad; in fact I had fun watching people go by.
The place was well-lit and I loved their lightning fixtures!
We took a quick trip to the comfort room (on the left) which was beside the open kitchen (on the right). Nothing like clean hands to start this unlimited chicken deal.

Obviously SM wasn't in for the unlimited chicken (although she did enjoy the chicken bones LOL), so I got her a bowl of the Soup of the day: Beef and Cabbage Soup. A Creamed Beef and Cabbage Soup. Quite different from the usual Clear Beef and Cabbage Soup. SM finished this whole. I had a spoonful and I liked it too. It was perfectly seasoned.

At 6PM, we were finally served our fried chicken! ☺ This is my plate: fried chicken + plain rice + banana catsup + tabasco. Yum! The rice is not part of the promo, but I suggest you order rice, the chicken can get very salty after a while. MR got Plain Rice (P32.00) too, while Dad had a cup of Shanghai Rice (P42.00). What I like about Max's chicken is that it has no breading. It is marinated (I'm thinking insoy sauce) and fried. The meat is moist and juicy, while the skin is crispylicious.
We started eating, feeling all cocky, bragging about how many chicken pieces we could finish each (preferably 4 pieces). LOL. How wrong we were! I mean, how wrong I was! While MR finished 4 pieces (!!!) and Dad had 3 pieces, I only managed to finish 2. Just 2!!! I had no idea that their chicken pieces would be so big!
We left the place at around 7:30PM and it was jam-packed. Wait-list. People sitting inside, sitting outside, waiting for their turn to get their hands on the fried chicken. It's worth it, but I don't think I'll be eating fried chicken anytime soon.
Thankfully, Gelatissimo is right around the corner.
A Little Side Story: They serve the chicken pieces in little baskets. The first time we were given our chicken, MR noticed that there was an half-eaten chicken drumstick in the basket with our pieces. He told me about this and I had my eye fixed on that basket the second time the waitress refilled our plate. The half-eaten chicken drumstick was still there! uh-oh! (o.O)
