Shopping Bag: Tao Kae Noi - Japanese Crispy Seaweed

I love Nori. Nori is Japanese edible seaweed which is commonly used to wrap maki and onigiri. It can also be used as a garnish in soups. When I was younger, I also liked to eat it as is for my snack. So when I saw this Tao Kae Noi in the supermarket, I was intrigued. Was this gonna be my new favorite snack?

I don't read Japanese writing but the two most important English phrases on the wrapper said enough for me to buy it. Japanese Crispy Seaweed, check. Resealable zipper, another check. But if this was gonna be as good as the nori I used to snack on, the resealable zipper wouldn't be needed.

Turns out, we really didn't need the resealable zipper. The three of us had a hand in it and I fell in love hard. SM did a little too, but MR passed after one piece. He's not big on Japanese seaweed.

It was cut in perfect slices. A little too spicy after several pieces, but I can take the heat! ☺

  1. There's a movie about the life of the 26 year old who started the company and the brand. He began when he was 17. It's currently running in Thai movie theaters.

My wife & I just tried their "Super Crisp" variety that has little crispy bread sprinkles in it. Very tasty! :)
