While sorting out my stuff the other day, I realized that I had an unused train ticket for Luxembourg-France. At 25€ the ticket, I absolutely had to go and it would be the perfect opportunity to check out recruitment agencies for work. After a quick search in the internet, I found that there was also a Filipino restaurant in Luxembourg and I absolutely wanted to check it out!
Travelling period is about one hour and a half. These photos above were taken right outside of the train station in Luxembourg. It's from the spot I like to stay at for a couple of minutes right after I step out of the train station.
While walking along the streets, I found this little Asian Market. I took a little trip inside and was amazed by the amount of Asian products they had. There were fresh fruits and vegetables well chilled and kept. As well as dry goods, drinks, frozen items and even beauty products! Everything was categorized with the product's name and with flags from which country it came from. There were more than a handful of Filipino products including the soy sauce I've been looking for back in France (I can only find Kikkoman near where I live). I thought about getting a bottle, but I decided to do that another time. But I did want to bring back a little something with me.
It was either a pack of Chippy Chips or a pack of Boy Bawang. I went with the Hot Garlic Boy Bawang which cost 2€ or about PhP 100+! What a difference in price from back home! But I didn't care, I just had to have it.
A little more walking around and I found what I had researched, the Filipino Restaurant, which turned out to be more of a bar than a restaurant. I found that out the hard way when I came in around noon excited to eat some good old Filipino cuisine, but was told that they do not serve food. But I was also told that if I came back on Friday evenings, there is always a gathering of Filipino people for a karaoke night and Filipino food. That I have to come back for!
When I finally decided that I had already done all I had planned to do and I was satisfied, it was time to go home. It was still mid-afternoon, so catching a train to go directly home was not hard. On the way to the train station, I saw these attached bicycles, which reminded me of the ones I saw on television in Paris. I wonder if these are free or if we have to pay to use them, unfortunately this is not the season to utilize them I think (too damn cold!).
I used the extra ticket I had till Metz and I had to change trains upon arrival in Metz to take the one to Morhange. This train ride was uneventfull and pretty quiet. I like it this way.
I admired my very super discounted shopping spree (9€ instead of 49€ for really nice grey pants!),
