Pot au Feu

Oh the cold has been bad lately! For the first time in many years, I am experiencing what it is to be in the negative. And boy am I glad to be staying home today! Especially when I found out what DO was preparing us for lunch today. A pick-me-up for the cold weather, she said. True that, I responded, especially for TH, my brother-in-law, who works all day long out in the farm.

Pot au Feu. Which is boiled beef cuts in beef broth with carrots and leeks (or other veggies if you like). Leeks are one of my favorite vegetables and the kitchen smelled wonderful because of them! And the beef was from cows from their own farm. Only good stuff in this!

Normally, DO makes her Pot au Feu with rice that she boils in the broth of the dish, but this time she decided to make it with French Fries. Call me biased, but I would have preferred it with the rice, not that there's something wrong with the fries. But that's just my preference...
