Now that the majoooooor Magnum Ice Cream craze has died down in the Philippines, I've decided it's time to write about my own experience. Like many, I was shocked to see the effect Magnum had on people. Social network sites were bombarded with statuses and photos. That went on for weeks and I couldn't help but wonder what is it about this ice cream that makes people go gaga.
One of the people in my entourage who didn't really care about the ongoing craze was my husband. LOL. Just to annoy him, I'd ask him if he had tried it every time we talked. But after several times of teasing him, suddenly I was becoming the curious one so I told him that if he wouldn't take the step, then I would! I thought I would have a hard time finding Magnum Ice Cream here, but after a quick visit at the supermarket, I realized that it was also popular here as well! And and and, turns out my sister had several boxes in her freezer that I never knew of! LOL! At the supermarket, I grabbed a box of Magnum Mini that came in 3 flavors - Classic, Almond, and White Chocolate.
So this weekend was dedicated to trying this out. With my sister, brother-in-law, and niece in Paris and my nephew who was God knows where this weekend, it meant I would have to take care of this all on my own. What a horrible punishment! *wink wink* LOL.

So how was my first Magnum experience? And most importantly, did I go gaga? Sorry to disappoint, but no. Did I enjoy? Yes, I did. My favorite amongst the three? The Classic Magnum. I'm glad that I got the mini version of the ice cream bar; I think the size is perfect for a one-time serving for myself and my 3 year old daughter. The chocolate is really good, the vanilla ice cream as well, but I'm more of a fruit sorbet type of gal anyways. But will I buy this again? Certainly! :)
