This year I got to celebrate mother's day twice. The first observing the special day in the Philippines which was on May 13 and the second time today in France. Being away from my family is not easy, especially not being able to do what we traditionally do. But this year, I got two greeting cards, 2 online flower bouquets, 2 dedicated videos, and endless "I love you's and I miss you's". Motherhood is the best thing that ever happened to me in my life.
You would think that I'd be sad today, but I wasn't. This separation has taught me a lot about myself - traits that I never knew I had in me. I'm strong.
So instead of being depressed and feeling miserable for myself, I started this day like any other. After my morning shower, I changed and braced myself for another day. Taking it step by step. Lunch was delicious and we enjoyed a wonderful cake my Brother-in-Law picked up early morning. It was beautifully decorated with whipped cream, chocolate, meringue, and several fresh fruits, inside there was chiffon cake, cream, and more fruit bits - delicioussssss!
