Our plans for tonight did not exactly go as we scheduled. My niece, MO, was excited to show me her favorite restaurant in Libramont, Belgium but when we passed by the restaurant this afternoon we found out it was closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Plus, it is August 15 today and a holiday. But don't feel too sorry for us - we found a way to enjoy our night. Although it was a holiday, we saw several restaurants open tonight as well as the movie house since we wanted to watch a movie.
Short on budget, we had previously agreed that we would eat at a fastfood and indulge in one restaurant. Because of the changes, we made our way to Quick, which was thankfully opened.
Quick is the European fastfood equivalent of McDonald's. It's been months since I've been in France and I still can't believe I've never tried eating at Quick. My niece doesn't like it and favors McDonald's, but I've always said I would try it.
The Quick that we ate at wasn't exactly in Libramont, it was in Recogne, just 2 kilometers away from Libramont. It is located in a commercial space and is near popular stores - it is right beside H&M. I was impressed with the Quick here. The outside facade was nice and the inside was well-decorated, clean, and spacious. There was an playground area inside for the kids to play. The place was well-lighted and had high ceilings. I took a quick trip in the bathroom and it was very clean!
I don't know if all Quick establishments are like this one, but this definitely scored a plus point over McDonald's. But then again, I've been in McDonald's establishments in France that were super while others not.
After a quick glance on the menu board, I decided to order the Supreme Classiq among the several choices available. The complete meal cost 7.99€ which had the Supreme Classiq Burger, a medium sized French Fries, Unlimited Drinks, and Ketchup.
First of all, I was shocked that I had to pay 0.60€ for a small saucer of ketchup, but pleasantly surprised that the drinks were unlimited. The French Fries weren't salted, which is good healthwise, but paled in comparison to McDonald's fries. I love both anyways. The Supreme Classiq Burger had burger buns, burger steak, tomatoes, lettuce, onion, pickles, cheese and a mustard sauce. It was quite good and not at all greasy! A lot of people I know have complained how burgers in Quick France are so greasy! I hate to make the McDonald's comparison again, but this will be the last time I promise. In the end, Quick burgers are a lot like McDonald's burgers when it comes to the fillings, but if I had to guess which was which, I could definitely tell from the bread. Aside from that, not much differs.
After our quick (no pun intended) dinner, we had a couple of minutes to make our way to the cinema in Libramont. We watched Total Recall with Colin Farrel, Jessica Biel, and Kate Beckinsale. Science Fiction aside (I'm not a big fan), it was a film with lots of good action! You see, you don't need to worry for me, I always find a way to make things work out to have a good night!
