Sunday Lunch BBQ
We've been lucky to have a good sunny weather lately. Unfortunately, they say it isn't going to be so by next month. DO prepared beef barbecue sticks, which we grilled outdoors with some white sausages. DO likes to pair grilled meats with salads, so we took care of that while my brother-in-law took care of grilling the meat.

Daydreaming of a Holiday Vacation Spot
While it is already summer vacation back home in the Philippines, it is not yet here in France. According to my niece, who is in her last year of College, she has about 1 more month to go. And what does one think of when there is only one more month left to go of school? Where to go on vacation!
Several ideas have been tossed in the air! Europe, Asia, America, Small islands in the middle of nowhere. But one particularly caught my attention - Mexico. The Cancun / Riviera Maya Region of Mexico. For so long, I've been hearing people in television going to Mexico for Spring Break and I've always wondered what is it about the place that I hear so much about. And then I started researching online. Coasts of white sand and clear blue water. Ruins and history of the Mayan civilization. One of the world's tourist destination. How can I resist that?!

Eat Sushi at Thionville, France
It must have been the combination of hunger and excitement to finally be eating a Japanese meal, but lunch at Eat Sushi was one of the most memorable meals I've had in a while!

Brownies - The Day of CL's Birthday
For the past couple of weeks, I've been testing and tasting my recipe for Brownies. My obsession for Brownies started when IR, LU's sister, gave me a small bag of hazelnuts. I couldn't think of anything else to make with the hazelnuts but Brownies. My first few tries were good - sometimes dry - but after several tries and tweaking here and there I'm finally happy with the final product. This was nothing like the ready mixes I used to bake! Today is CL's birthday and we are invited for dinner at her house tonight. She informed me that she didn't want anything for her birthday, but I didn't want to go empty-handed. I knew if I brought a platter of Brownies she would be happy and would probably serve it with her desserts.

Wednesday Market at Morhange, France
Every Wednesday there is a outdoor market in Morhange, France. It is in a nearby village and since we were out for some errands in the village, we decided to drop by to see what was for sale. This was my first time to visit the Wednesday market and I was excited to see how it was. I am and always was fascinated with markets.

Pasta Roma
They wanted to bring back Rome with them and make us experience what they had. On their recent Rome trip, DO could not help but gush about the pasta dishes she had. Simple dishes with minimal ingredients, mais absolutement delicieux, she said. So tonight, we were in for a little trip to Rome.

T'Chitcho Pizza & Snack at Morhange, France
I am struggling. I've come to a point in my journey where I need to find some light to know that I am heading in the right direction. I thought I did with the purchase of my car. Which it has in a little way, but it's slowly fading and hitting me with reality. The reality is that bills are piling up and although I can still keep up each month, I need some change. I woke up this morning with the desire to move out of my sister's house. And it's a strong desire. After almost 6 months, it is time to get myself my own place, even if it is a little studio at first. I am mentally counting how much it will cost me and it can pass, but just by. I need a stable job. There, I said it. I need to find a good job.

McBaguette at McDonald's in Saint Avold, France
I woke up this morning with the idea of going on a road trip. What's the point of having a car if I don't take it out on longer trips once in a while? Anyways, my plans for the day was go to mass and then return home. My niece, MO, was preparing lunch as she was having friends over to celebrate a birthday. As the hours passed, the thought of spending my lunch and afternoon at home sounded less and less appealing. Not that I have anything against them, but I had the desire of going away. But where could I possibly go when everything is quiet and closed on a Sunday?! As much as I wanted to go away, I didn't want to drive 50 kilometers to Metz either. And then it hit me. I could go to Saint Avold (32 kms away) - McDonald's for lunch and then maybe a stroll through the city hoping something would be opened.
