My Kitchen: Wok by Thomas

I finally bought my dream Wok today - the one I've wanted for so long - and I am beyond happy! Back in the Philippines, I had a Tefal wok that I loved cooking with. I was sad to part with it, but I promised myself I would get one again someday. A couple of months I bought one at an Asian store. It was an authentic Chinese wok, but unfortunately I didn't really know how to manipulate it. It had a rounder bottom than what I was used to and I wondered if I needed a special kind of stove-top. After a couple of uses, it started to rust and MR didn't want me to use it anymore. The nearest grocery store to our house is a Carrefour Market. It is a rather small store, but it has the basic necessities. Don't worry, we won't be starving from hunger anytime soon. LOL. Once in a while, Carrefour likes to have promos for their clients. This time, they were offering 60% off of some Thomas by Rosenthal Group pots and pans. And one was a Wok that looked a lot like the one I had back home.

On a previous promo, I bought some knives from Thomas by Rosenthal Group. Couple of months later, they are the only knives I use when I cook. Good-quality stuff. I hoped that the Wok I was eyeing would be top-notch as well. Plus point was that it came with a cover!

My beautiful inox Wok. For every 10 Euros I spent at the store, I got 1 sticker. When I collected 8 tickets, I was able to avail of the 60% off the original price. Instead of paying 77,25 Euros, I paid 30,90 Euros only. I think it's a pretty good deal for this fine-quality and innovative product!

I couldn't resist making Pan-Roasted Potatoes to baptize my new wok. Perfect! :)

  1. You have to use silicon or wooden spatula on this wok, else it scratches fast!

That's exactly what I'm doing. I wouldn't want to scratch my beautiful new wok! :)
