Dad wanted to make some changes in his room. He asked me if I could bring him today to a place he could buy some cheap, but nice side tables and maybe a lamp. With the summer days coming to an end, school and work is gonna take up most of our time soon and unfortunately, family outings are gonna have to be less spontaneous. But we still have about 2 more weeks of summer which is why the gang and I went to the ever trustful store, Ikea, this morning. While SO was playing in their kid's playground, we went to buy a couple of side tables, kitchen tools, office furniture, and a television table. I love Ikea!!! <3
There's a French saying that goes, "apres l'effort, le reconfort" or "after the effort comes the comfort" in English. This means that after our "very effortful" shopping spree, we found ourselves at Ikea's cafeteria-style restaurant for lunch.
Marinated Salmon Gravlax - 4,20 Euros
Boulettes Suedoises / Swedish Meatballs (15 pieces) with Mashed Potatoes - 4,95 Euros
Finally!!! I get to try the "famous" Ikea Meatballs for the first time ever after years of hearing about this. Funny, but MR and I thought the meatballs and the gravy tasted exactly like the burger steak in the Filipino fastfood, Jollibee.
Enjoy the meatballs with Creamy Mashed Potatoes as an accompaniment.
Mixed Seafood in Tomato Sauce with French Fries - 6,95 Euros
Children's Menu (Starter, Main Dish, and Dessert) - 3,60 Euros
While Dad, SO (the children's version), and I had the Meatballs with Gravy and Mashed Potato combo, MR had the Mixed Seafood in Tomato Sauce. I hated this! It tasted like something that came out of a can. Two thumbs down.
Sadly, I found none of the desserts good. Awful, even. Too sweet, too much butter, too blah blah. That's why I bought a cone of vanilla ice cream, but even that was too sweet!
Gateau au Chocolat / Chocolate Cake - 1,00 Euros
Gateau aux Amandes / Almond Cake - 1,95 Euros
Gateau Chocolat Caramel / Caramel Chocolate Cake - 1,95 Euros
Vanilla Ice Cream - 1,00 Euros
