Vide-Grenier in Conthil, France 2013

Another summer weekend, another vide-grenier. For weeks, everywhere I go, I see signs for Vide-Greniers. In this town, in that town, and this time in our town!!! Well, not really our town since we don't live here, but it is a town that is close to my heart. <3

I love Vide-Greniers. Sure, there are stuff from a thousand years ago and loads of crap, but if you dig really deep, sometimes you can come up with a "treasure".

Even dogs! Oh oops, that's not for sale!

If you stayed long enough for lunch, we sold 3 kinds of Grilled Sausages (Saucisse Blanche, Chipolata, and Merguez) and Grilled Boneless Pork Chop. No photos, but the Pork Chop are absolute divine! <3

Grilled Sausages and Boneless Pork Chop - 2 Euros per sandwich

Not a good photo of our drinks truck, but it's the only photo.

Conthil was a pretty busy town that afternoon / evening. In addition to the Vide-Grenier, the association of young farmers organized a Concours de Labour / Plowing contest. My nephew joined the competition, but unfortunately he didn't win.

For dinner, we struck a deal with a Pizza Food Truck.

6 Euros for a Pizza or Flamm

The very cute and talented Italian pizza chef! He called SO his "cherie" and gave me a free pizza to bring home. Thank you!!!

The region's specialty, Flamm - thin pizza crust with cream, lardons, caramelized onions, and cheese.

Pizza- thin pizza crust, fresh mushrooms, ham, tomato sauce, and cheese.

All throughout the day, we had pies, cakes, and tarts for sale. By evening, the only dessert left was this Marble Cake.

I remember last year's Vide-Grenier. It was crazy hot, people were covered in sweat, and eventually left early. This year, albeit a rain shower in the afternoon, was perfect weather-wise. Not too hot, not too cold with a breeze from time to time. People were excited to be out and about. That's perhaps the reason why we did really good for lunch and dinner. We were kinda worried for dinner as the young farmers also organized a Pizza/Flamm night, but word is our cute Italian chef made wayyy better pizzas and flamms! :D
