Soiree Raclette with My Girls
You can't deny it. A girl's night is all about laughter, smiles, giggles, secrets, and the good ol' catching up on gossips. "Did you hear....? OMG!!! She did what? Nooooo, he didn't! I can't believe it. It's true, it's true! That's just unbelievable!!!" LOL. I laugh out loud because whether it is in the Philippines or in France, a girl's night is a girl's night. The language changes, the content doesn't. But I swear it's not mean. I would never hurt anyone intentionally, but it's undeniable, this happens! Sorry guys, but girls talk! Hihihihi....
When my friend, MA, mentioned that her partner was going away for a week on a work trip and she wanted to host a dinner for her girlfriends, I said yes before she invited me! :D I'm constantly thankful for having a great family - a husband that adores me (and lets me go out whenever I want!) and a loving daughter - but I also need the presence of my girlfriends in my life. I've always been a girl's girl and I am usually the clown of the group. That's me!
MA didn't want to be bothered with preparing a complicated meal, so she asked if a Raclette would be good. Uhm...excuse me? Would a Raclette be good??? YES!!!! I've never heard of someone who refused a Raclette invitation!
I've written about Raclette before - here, here, and here. My tip is not to be afraid of calories. I admittedly try not to have it too often because while it is simple to make, it is quite heavy!
MA's meal was slightly different than the usual that I have. Hers included vegetables like caramelized onions, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. She also added lardons / bacon bits. It changes from what I am used to, but I realized something about myself that night. I realized that this is what I love doing. I like to think that I am a pretty open-minded person. So while I have my family favorites, I don't shun away from new experiences either and I actually like to see how regional specialties are being enjoyed from person to person!
