Once I was done with my meeting, MR and I realized that we didn't really have a lot of time to explore before heading home to pick up our daughter. We agreed that we would each get to choose one place to visit or one thing to do. I let my man pick first and with many thanks to our phone, we quickly found ourselves casually walking in the small streets of Strasbourg in the direction of the city's beautiful cathedral.
On the way, I couldn't help but admire this restaurant. The black and white decor combination just does it for me. I looked it up online and Maison Kammerzell looks like a good place to dine!
So we were slowly walking the small streets of Strasbourg. I suddenly looked up and felt the goosebumps on my arms. Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Strasbourg is a beauty!
We approached the cathedral and after several minutes of admiring it from outside, we eagerly entered it to admire the insides.
My photos do absolutely no justice to this place. I swear I had my mouth wide open the whole time with eyes as huge as saucers.
...whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24
I like to think that there is a treasure down there. I could be wrong. Who knows?!
We had no idea that there was an Astronomical Clock inside the cathedral. This was just the cherry on top!
I love this photo! If you look a little closer, you can see my husband on the left. In deep thoughts, he is seriously trying to figure out how the Astrological Clock / Horloge Astronomique de Strasbourg works.
If you want to find out a little more about the Cathedral, you can read about it here.
I leave you with a photo of the Alsatian buildings right in front of the cathedral. It was a beautifully warm day today and everyone seemed to have agreed to come out and settle in on the tables sur la terrace. A view with one of architecture's finest is not a bad seat to be lounging on. Life is beautiful!
