Marché du Monde in Center Parcs - Les Trois Forets, France

When we showered and dried off from our late afternoon swimming session, we were all feeling really hungry. Anyone who knows us knows it isn't a good thing. MR gets impatient, I'm cranky, and SO strangely tries to sleep it off.

The original plan was to go try a Chinese buffet in Sarrebourg, which is about 10-15 minutes away from Hattigny. I had taken down the details earlier in the afternoon, but when we got out of the Aqua Mundo (the swimming pool) 10-15 minutes suddenly seemed like an hour away. I didn't know how much longer MR could handle my crankiness. LOL.

So as we were walking through the maze of tropical trees on our way out, I saw a post with the names of the restaurants in Center Parcs. Immediately, Marche du Monde caught our eye, or more precisely the word "buffet" right after it did. MR is a big buffet lover, but truthfully he's been getting sick of the Asian buffets here. It's always pretty much the same food that's served. And not very authentic- mostly adapted to the French palate.

When we understood that Marche du Monde's buffet was international, it felt like a sign from above!

Creamy Pumpkin Soup with cheese and bread.

Steamed White Fish, Steamed Salmon, Carrot and Celery Salad, and Potato Salad

Knack Sausage, Roasted Pork Ham, Baked Lamb with Potatoes, and Grilled Beef Sticks

Stuffed Cabbage, Sauteed Chicken, Hachis Parmentier, Baked Fish, and White Rice

I tried to taste as many dishes as I could. For 23.50 Euros per adult (8.50 Euros for children), it was
expensive for what it was. Sure, the decors were beautiful, but by 9:30PM the staff was packing up the place while we were still eating. It gives the feeling that you're bothering and you need to hurry up. I hate that! We didn't bother staying longer for dessert.

The food wasn't great. It was as horrible as it looks on the photo. Fish was overcooked, the Stuffed Cabbage as well, the meat was tough, the lamb was tasteless. Oh yeah, the knack sausage was alright, ....... but can you ever go wrong cooking it?!?

I don't know about the other restaurants in Center Parcs, but I can understand now why this one had barely any diners!
