A Day in Saarbrucken, Germany

Coincidentally MR and I happened not to be working one Monday. We first thought we would enjoy it relaxing together at home, but we changed our mind when we saw how beautiful the day was going to be. Hot with a cool breeze or the perfect Spring day. In the past years, we've been hearing from friends and colleagues about the wonders of Saarbrucken in Germany. We decided today would be the perfect opportunity for MR and I to check out what everyone has been talking about.

Globus, McDonald's McRib and Apple Pie, Starbucks, DM, Primark, Yankee Candle and Pizza Hut are just some of the great things I heard so much about Saarbrucken. And the best part?  These are some of my favorite things and only a 1-hour drive from home (sometimes 10 minutes depending on my workplace).

The day started out with lunch at McDonald's.

I had the McRib and I loved it. I loved the tenderness of the pork and the sweetness of the BBQ sauce together. I heard this is already available in the Philippines. Niceeee.

So I heard that many years ago, the Apple Pie was available in France.
Why did they take this out of the menu??? Crazy idea.

They weren't lying when they said that the weather was going to be perfect today. The best to go shopping really.

After lunch, it was Starbucks time. I didn't realize how much I loved this place until I moved to France and found myself in the land of no-Starbucks. Not good. For a while, I thought I would need to go to Paris to get my Starbucks fix, but I'm happy to announce that all it takes is a 45 minute car drive. Andddd ... in one afternoon I saw 2 branches!!!

Espresso Frappuccino and Mango Passion Fruit Frappuccino

Yankee Candle - a passion for fragrance. This is THE place for candle lovers. Walk in the store and soak in the scents. I walked in, soaked in the scents, and came out with 2 candles.
