Overnight Stay in Premiere Classe Valence Nord in Saint-Marcel-les-Valence, France

When I was planning our holidays, the first thing I did was rent an accommodation by the beach. I looked around by the Mediterranean Sea area and finally booked a mobil-home in Le Barcares. The drive going there is about 9 hours and I knew I wouldn't be able to do it in one trip. So originally staying in Saint-Marcel-les-Valence was supposed to be a mid-way resting stop to stay the night, but when I saw that it was close to the city of Valence, I thought we could do a little visiting (click here for the post).

I found our hotel room through the reservation site - Booking (
An overnight stay in Premiere Class Valence Nord - Saint Marcel Les Valence cost us 37.80 Euros + 0.80 Euros of taxe de sejour per person.

The hotel was actually located in a ZAE (zone d'activités economiques), which is a commercial zone. The advantage of a commercial zone vs. the city center is the free parking available at the hotel. We tested both on this trip and it is definitely a comfort to not have to worry about where to park your car.

We were able to easily find the hotel and because we arrived mid-afternoon, a lovely receptionist welcomed us and gave us our keys. Apparently, if one arrives at night, the reception is handled differently.

Anyways, the receptionist also gave useful information on the spots to visit in the city, as well as discount coupons for restaurants nearby (La Boucherie Restaurant and Joe a les Crocs). We settled our bill (room + tax) and she informed us that there was a buffet breakfast (for an extra cost) if we were interested.

Right beside our hotel was an Asian restaurant, Happy Panda. We were definitely tempted to have dinner here, but I had prepared food for today in an attempt to spend less. Eating in Happy Panda meant we would have to throw away the food we had and there was no way I would do that. If you stay in this hotel, you will definitely not go hungry with so many restaurants at a walking distance (there's even a McDonald's 50 meters away!).

We stayed in Room 217 and we were very happy.
The room was equipped with air-conditioning which we really appreciated on this hot day.

SO was really excited to see her bed above ours. She's really into bunk beds nowadays.
I was excited to see how clean the room was. Although the room was a bit small to walk around, we were contented.

The room was also equipped with a desk, a closet and hangers, a full-length mirror, and a flat screen television. On the other hand, there was no mini-bar, safe, or hair dryer. We didn't mind. There was a vending machine at the lobby in case we were thirsty.

The bathroom was also really clean, with bath towels, hand towels, shampoo, and soap.
We prefer showers over bath tubs, plus this one looked really new.

From the window, we had a view of a large field and mountains. It was peaceful and calm, exactly how I hoped it would be for a relaxing night.

And in the morning,  we woke up to the sight of a beautiful blue sky.

Overall, we had a very positive experience at this hotel. In fact, of the 3 hotels we stayed at during this trip, this was our favorite. Keeping in mind that we only stayed one night, the size of the room might have been a problem after a couple of days. But anyways, I thought that for a low-budget hotel, we were able to enjoy a nice, clean room and slept on a comfortable bed and that's all we could have hoped for.

Two thumbs up!
