French Coffee Shop in Metz, France

In the continuity of discovering new places just the 2 of us (click here and here), MR and I took a break from work that afternoon to try out French Coffee Shop in Metz, France. Anyone who knows me well knows that I love Starbucks. Not particularly because of the coffee, but it reminds me of my past. All those afternoons and after-dinner coffees. Ahhhh ... I miss home.

Souq Waqif in Doha, Qatar

It was impossible not to visit the Souq Waqif. To me, this was the center of the city and not just literally. When I was there about 6 years ago (click here for the post), it was close to midnight and all the stores were closed already. We sat down at a Shisha place and stayed for an hour. It was fun, but looking back it was a little torturous. I mean, it was right there, but behind closed doors and windows. Of course, I promised myself I would go back and do more than sniffing the air, window-shopping, and imagining talking to store sellers.

Maison Fresson in Metz, France

Life has been particularly difficult these past months. Past demons have been resurfacing, car problems, having only 1 car following our accident, SO hurting herself, getting ill, missing deadline for my certification, changes at work.... Name it - I got it. I used to smile about it, joked about it even. How can I be so unlucky??? I used to say. But it's been 6-7 months and it's not funny anymore. I am in a vicious cycle and truthfully I don't know how to get out of it. I like to think of myself as a positive person, but this time it's hard. :'(
